A whole bunch of cops created a “sombre and shifting” guard of honour exterior Chorley Police Station forward of the funeral of Assistant Chief Constable Peter Lawson.

The service adopted the tribute in the present day (Friday 29 December) at Charnock Richard Crematorium.
Dozens of associates, colleagues and officers joined ACC Lawson’s household after his demise on 10 December.

Senior officers attended the service, together with Chief Constable Chris Rowley, members of Lancashire Constabulary’s chief officer crew, representatives from regional forces and former Lancashire Constabulary Chief Officers.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson mentioned: “The lack of such a preferred and well-respected colleague has affected all of us, particularly these closest to Peter, and we’d prefer to share our gratitude and admiration for the unimaginable power and resilience officers and police workers have proven over the previous couple of weeks.
“In addition to being an awesome chief, his fast wit, compassion and reliability have been only a few of the issues that made Peter the unimaginable individual that he was. The sheer variety of constructive feedback about Pete upon the information of his demise are testomony to the person who he was.
“As a drive we’ll proceed to assist Peter’s household and honour his reminiscence.”
