Road closed outside Penwortham school after tree comes down

A highway in Penwortham is closed this night after a tree fell into the highway.

Hill Street South is closed across the junction of Stricklands Lane, outdoors Middleforth Church of England Major Faculty, because of the tree.

Police have mentioned that they’re awaiting its removing. The incident was reported by them at 4.28pm right this moment (January 31).

A spokesperson for police mentioned: “Please remember that we’re presently on scene for a highway closure on Hill Street South outdoors Middleforth C Of E Major Faculty. This is because of a fallen tree blocking the highway.

“We’re awaiting it’s removing and the highway might be reopened as quickly as potential.”
