A gun fired this morning in Preston was doubtless a blank-firing weapon, police have stated.

Police had been known as at round 9am this morning (February 27) to London Highway and street closures had been put in place within the space – the roads have since reopened.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and stays in custody. No additional arrests have been made at this stage.

Nobody was injured on account of the firearm discharge and the police have stated that there isn’t any risk to the broader public. They’ve stated they consider a blank-firing weapon was concerned. The weapon has been recovered and is now being examined.
Supt Steve Rides of Preston Police, stated: “We’re treating this as an remoted incident and we’ve a person in custody.
“You will notice an elevated police presence within the space whereas we examine the circumstances of what occurred and to supply reassurance to the general public.
“As a part of our investigations, we’re asking for anybody who has sprint cam or CCTV footage from the realm, to contact us.
