AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi moves Supreme Court against implementation of Citizenship Amendment Rules 2024

Chief of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, has moved the Supreme Courtroom in search of keep on implementation of the Citizenship Modification Guidelines, 2024.

Owaisi prayed that no functions in search of citizenship standing needs to be entertained underneath the Act till the principle petition was disposed of.

He additional sought instructions that no recourse needs to be allowed underneath the proviso to Part 2(1)(b) of the Act.

A batch of petitions have been filed within the Apex Courtroom following the Central authorities notifying the Citizenship Modification Guidelines to implement the Citizenship Modification Act, 2019.

The AIMIM chief had moved the Apex Courtroom in 2019 additionally, stating that the current Citizenship (Modification) Act ‘miserably’ failef on the touchstone of Article 14.
